ESSD receives an energy savings incentive rebate worth over $25,000.

Working with global energy leader, Schneider Electric, the district received a $25,282.40 rebate from Ameren Missouri for the energy efficiency upgrades made to district facilities.

Excelsior Springs School District received a $25,282.40 rebate from Ameren Missouri for the recently completed energy efficiency project at four district buildings. The recently completed construction project included upgraded interior and exterior lighting to LED technology, plumbing fixtures throughout the district, and a state-of-the-art voice over IP system. The most prominent of the updates includes upgrading the stadium lights at the high school to LED lighting. Dr. Dan Hoehn, the Excelsior Springs Superintendent, had a vision to improve the learning environment in all the buildings on campus. By paralleling this project with Proposition T, the District was able to accomplish more work with no increase to the budget or taxpayers.

The rebate is a result of Ameren Missouri BizSaver’s Program. “Being energy efficient in our renovations was really important to us not only from a sustainability perspective, but also from a fiscal responsibility standpoint,” said Excelsior Springs Deputy Superintendent Dr. Jaret Tomlinson. “This rebate is just one example of how energy savings will benefit the district for years to come.”

In partnership with energy services company, Schneider Electric, the district completed the construction project in November. With a guaranteed annual utility savings of over $78,000, the focus on energy savings throughout the project has helped the district update its facilities without compromising fiscal sustainability.

Over the past 28 years, Schneider Electric has successfully implemented over 800 ESPC projects across the nation, saving its clients more than $2.6 billion. This project delivery method helps publicly funded entities make capital improvements over longer payback periods and offers many long-term benefits such as improved facility efficiency, occupant comfort, financial management and environmental protection.
