Boone Recognized as Outstanding Beginning Teacher

Excelsior Springs, MO – Excelsior Springs School District is proud to announce that Katie Boone has been named one of Missouri’s Outstanding Beginning Teachers by the Missouri Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (MACTE). This prestigious recognition was awarded at MACTE’s spring conference on February 17, 2025, honoring exceptional early-career educators across the state.


A graduate of Park University, Boone is being recognized for her remarkable ability to build meaningful relationships with students and foster a classroom environment where they feel encouraged to expand their knowledge and personal growth. Her dedication to student success and passion for education have made a lasting impact in her first years of teaching at Excelsior Springs High School.


The Outstanding Beginning Teacher Award honors educators in their first two years of teaching who exemplify excellence in their field. Awardees are selected based on recommendations from Missouri’s teacher education programs as well as their school districts.


As part of the recognition, Katie Boone received an award packet and a commemorative banner to display in her classroom, celebrating her outstanding contributions to education.
