Federal Programs

Federal Programs in Our Schools

Our schools receive federal funding to provide extra support and opportunities for students. These programs are designed to make sure every child has what they need to learn, grow and succeed.

Here are some of the ways federal programs help our students:
- Extra Academic Support (Title I) – Additional help for students in reading, math and other subjects.
- Strong Teachers (Title II) – Training and resources for teachers so they can give students the best education possible
- Safe and Healthy Schools (Title IV) – Resources for student wellness, technology and enrichment opportunities.
- Special Education (IDEA) – Services and supports for students with disabilities.
- Gifted Education – Opportunities and enrichment for students identified as gifted to reach their full potential.
- Foster Care Services – Ensuring students in foster care have stability, support and equal access to school programs.
- McKinney-Vento (Homeless Education Program) – Help for students experiencing homelessness so they can enroll, attend and succeed in school.
- Support for English Learners (ELL) – Programs and services to help students learning English achieve success.

Why it matters:
Federal funds help us close learning gaps, strengthen instruction and provide opportunities for all students.

Families are important partners!
Parents and caregivers are encouraged to get involved in planning and reviewing these programs each year.
